What's all the buzz around pollinators? Come see for yourself at Magnolia Community Garden's Apiary! Join two Conservancy Beekeepers as they inspect a honeybee hive and learn all about the magic of bees!
**Please review the recommended safety precautions below. Attendees will observe the inspection from a safe distance and additional best practices for observing a hive inspection will be shared onsite. Basic first aid in the form of sting relief pads and Benadryl will be available onsite. However, anyone with a known allergy to bee stings should plan to have an EpiPen on their person in the event they are stung. We will also have information and activities available away from the hive for individuals who want to learn about bees from a distance.
Lowcountry Earth Week is a collaborative initiative of over 40 local conservation organizations taking place from April 15-22, 2023. The week-long celebration of the region’s natural beauty and resources features a variety of clean-ups, festivals, nature activities, and workshops. Volunteers of Earth Week events are invited to join us for a complimentary pint voucher courtesy of Holy City Brewing on Earth Day, April 22, 2023, from 12 to 4 pm. The celebration will take place on the brewery’s marsh-front lawn and feature a conservation fair of participating organizations. Earth Week event participants will check in near the brewery entrance to get their vouchers. Additionally, brewery guests are welcome to browse the tabling event on the lawn and learn more about the conservation-minded organizations participating in Lowcountry Earth Week. A complete list of events can be found at www.lowcountryearthweek.org
